Cynthia Osokogu: Hotel employees sacked, Burial Date: Sept 7th

Here's how Punch News reports it...

There were indications on Wednesday that Cosmilla Hotel, Amuwo Odofin, where Cynthia Osokogu was killed, had sacked some of its employees.
Although the Commissioner of Police Lagos State Command, Mr. Umar Manko, said no employee of the hotel was suspected of being complicit, the hotel management reportedly sacked the employees on duty on the day that he was killed for negligence.
One of the alleged killers, Okwumo Nwabufo, had said he spent 12 hours, between 9pm on July 21, 2012 and 12pm of July 22, with the deceased before her death.
The other suspect, Ezike Olisaeloka, said he went to the room with a chain and cello tape which he used in tying up the victim. He also confessed that it was in the hotel that he bought the drink which he later used in drugging the victim.
According to reliable sources, the hotel management was angry that no one suspected anything when the alleged murder was taking place despite the fact that Cynthia, who was in Room C1, fought her assailants and made a noise.
The hotel employees were also sacked for not verifying the true identity of Nwabufo, who used a fake name before he was allowed to lodge at the hotel. Apart from this security lapse, there was no record of Cynthia in the hotel.
A source at the hotel said, “One of the reasons the police found it difficult to ascertain the identity of Cynthia was that she came in as a guest of a customer and her name was not registered at the counter. The employees on duty ought to have gone back to Room C1 when Cynthia did not exit the room but they were nonchalant.”
It was learnt that that police had locked up the room where Cynthia was killed pending the end of investigations.
All efforts to speak with the management of the hotel proved abortive as security guards prevented journalists from going in.
A senior employee, who failed to identify himself, said, “All questions about the murder or anything related, should be directed to the police.”
