The First Lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama, recently wore a piece by our very own Nigerian designer Maki Oh, during her trip to South Africa. We love the mix of prints and colours – the mix of tiny prints with large block print on a flared skirt. The adire tally print, Maki's signature design, was hand painted onto silk chiffon panels

Policemen attached to Adeniji Adele division have arrested a 22-year-old man who alleged kidnapped and raped a student of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, Akoka, for turning down his advances.

The suspect, Babajide Bashorun, was also alleged to have taken nude shots of his victim (names withheld) and pasted them on the internet with her real name, school, department and age.

The Daily Mail journalist was this afternoon on the receiving end of a sweary Twitter rant by the Bajan singer - after she slagged her off in an article on their website, calling her a "poisonous pop princess" and a "toxic role model".

Never one to to be a wallflower, RiRi hit back at the writer on the social networking site, launching into a shouty diatribe which called her accuser a "bitter amateur" journalist and a "menopausal mess".

The artiste and his manager were yesterday invited to Zone 2 police station in Onikan to answer questions. Wizkid collects about N2m per show, so who could have collected N500k on his behalf? .

Residents from various parts of Lagos have been coming to catch a glimpse of a baby allegedly born with a miniature Quran at 9, Oguntade Street, Shasha area of the state. (crowd at the residence where the baby was born)

Incidents like these are scientifically impossible, but residents of the area say it is true even though some of them confessed that they did not see the baby clutching the miniature Quran, the holy book of the Muslims. They were only told about it.

It took efforts for P.M.NEWS reporters to gain access into the one-room apartment of the baby’s parents as a result of the crowd that took over the place.

4-year-old Vivienne Jolie-Pitt has already scored her first paying gig ... and TMZ has learned she's raking in a helluva lot more than you made on your paper route back in the day.

CUSTOM OFFICERS KILL CAR SMUGGLER

This happened an hour ago. A man trying to smuggle a Audi wagon car into Lagos was stopped by custom officers but he refused to stop. They chased him to Iyana Ipaja. When he got there he met a little traffic and decided to run out of the car. He was immediately shot dead by the custom officers. His body is currently lying on the express way now. 

I don't know if this is right, but i think they shouldn't have killed him. I think they should have shot him on the leg or something.

Do you think the best thing was to kill him? The Police are right now at the scene trying to tow the car away.

BOLA TINUBU LOSES MUM

His mum, Alhaja Abibat Asabi Mogaji passed on this evening, Saturday 15th at her residence in Lagos. She was the President-General, Association of Nigerian Market Women and Men. She was 96 and will be buried tomorrow. May her soul rest in peace.

KIM KARDASHIAN GIVES BIRTH TO BABY GIRL

Kim Kardashian has given birth to a baby girl ... TMZ has learned.

Source close to KK tell TMZ ... it was a NATURAL CHILD BIRTH.  She started having contractions Friday night and went into full labor early Saturday AM.

Our sources tell us the baby and Kim are both in good health. We're told Kim delivered the baby at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center this morning ... 5 weeks early.

Our sources say BF Kanye West was there for the entire thing -- in the delivery room by Kim's side. We're told Kanye cancelled his appearance at his own record release party last night when Kim told him she was feeling "a little off."

It is the first child for Kim and Kanye.

WIZKID INVOLVED IN CAR ACCIDENT

 

Wizkid was involved in an accident around 3: 30am this morning in front of GET Arena as he left the Nokia Lumia Beat party which held at the Oriental Hotel in Lekki. Fortunately, the only thing damaged in the accident was the Porsche Panamera S car worth about N10m which he recently bought. Wizkid and other passengers in the car were unhurt.

According to my paparazzi who witnessed the accident and took the photos, the accident was caused by a bust tyre. Wizkid, who wasn't the one driving, was quickly taken away in another car. His bodyguard stayed behind to get the vehicle towed. See more photos after the cut...

UNIBEN STUDENT SHOT IN THE HEAD

A 200level Mathematics student of the University of Benin known as Snazzy was shot in the head by an unknown gun man around 2pm yesterday afternoon during the biometrics registration held in the university sports complex.

Eye witnesses say the gunman dropped the gun and disappeared into the crowd before he could be identified. Snazzy was immediately rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. Don't know for sure if he died or survived. Will update as soon as I have confirmation.

SSS SAYS LEBANESE SUSPECTS ARE TERRORISTS

The State Security Service (SSS) has said that co-owner of Amigo Supermarket, Mustapha Fawaz, and two other Lebanese, Abdallah Tahini and Tala Ahmed Roda are terrorists and members of Hezbollah military wing, and so should be detained.

It also prayed the court to allow them remain in custody based on the nature of the allegations against them which includes importing prohibited weaponry.

ROBBERY SUSPECTS NEARLY BEATEN TO DEATH

Two robbery suspects, members of a robbery syndicate that specialize in snatching money and valuables from unsuspecting passengers were nabbed by angry mob along stadium road, Ilorin on Wednesday.

According to the unsuspecting victim, “I went to change some currency from naira to dollars at a bureau de change. After the transactions, I stopped the taxi with the men inside. Getting to my destination, I asked the driver to stop but he said he wanted to pick someone ahead before dropping me so he moved up a bit and stopped. 

I tried to open the door but it was difficult so the man near me moved closer to me, I never suspected he wanted to rob me, tried to assist in opening the door. As I dropped from the cab, I discovered that I have been robbed so I quickly raised alarm, they quickly threw down my money and sped off, so passers bye assisted in giving them a hot chase with Okada and apprehended the two of them”.
                        
It took the quick intervention of men from Special Anti Robbery Squared, SARS, for the suspects not to have died of the beating sustained by angry mob.

The robbers were arrested in a Mazda taxi cab, Registration number XD 358 KEY Kwara number and officially registered with taxi union with registration number LRN A5/ 264.

The Police Public relations Officer, DSP, Femi Fabode confirmed the arrest of the robbers and stated that they actually specialize in robbing people coming from banks adding that they have their own taxi with which they monitor bank customers and pretend that they are taxi drivers on commercial duty.
