BBC reports that Pistorius sought an end to supervision by a probation officer and compulsory drug and alcohol testing but the state opposed the application. However, he was granted permission to travel as long as he complied with certain conditions and could also visit his hometown Pretoria, where his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp was killed.
“It is not as if the appellant is travelling for holiday in Mauritius; it’s only to gain an income, there’s no other reason,” Pistorious's lawyer Barry Roux was quoted as saying.
