SEVEN FEARED DEAD, THREE INJURED IN BAUCHI ROAD CRASH

Seven persons were confirmed dead while three others sustained injuries in an auto crash along Kurwala village in Alkeleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, about one kilo metre from the office of Federal Road Safety Corp .
The accident, it was gathered, occurred in the early hours of yesterday at around 8:52am and it involved an articulated truck and a red commuter Sharon bus.
An eyewitness told THISDAY that the truck with number plate XA 654 GJW and the Sharon Toyota bus with number plate MSA 214 AA, belonging to one of the popular mass transit companies, collided when one of the bus tyres got burst.


The State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Sunday Olatunji who confirmed the incident, said that a total of ten persons were involved in the auto crash, out of which seven persons were confirmed dead while three others sustained injuries.
According to him, “All the ten persons involved in the crash are all men. When our office in Alkeleri got the information, some FRSC officers in the local government went to the scene of the crash and evacuated all the seven corpses to mortuary at the General Hospital in Alkeleri while the three injured persons were given medical assistance at the hospital”.
The FRSC Commander said caused by the driver of the Sharon Toyota bus who left his lane as a result of a tyre burst and collided with the truck which was on a full speed.
